Eligible Hardships

When life takes an unexpected turn, we’re here to help. Explore the hardships that may qualify you for assistance below.

  • Unemployment resulting in a significant loss of income. Proof of state or federal unemployment assistance is required.

  • Out-of-pocket medical expenses that significantly impact financial stability. Expenses must exceed the equivalent of two mortgage payments, with proof of expenses provided.

  • Uninsured or unexpected expenses necessary for the home's safety or habitability. Repair costs must exceed the equivalent of two mortgage payments, with proof of expenses provided.

  • A significant reduction in household income due to divorce or the death of a financial contributor. The affected AmPledge member must retain ownership of the home, and the exiting individual must have contributed at least 25% of the household income at the time of onboarding.

Request Financial Assistance

Facing unexpected financial strain? Members can request help through the AmPledge Hardship Assistance Program™, which provides temporary mortgage support during times of need. Review the steps below to understand how the hardship request process works.

  • Submit the form with all required documentation. Online form can be found here.

  • AmPledge will vet your hardship for eligibility, typically within 15 days.

  • If approved, AmPledge will make up to three mortgage payments directly to your lender from your hardship escrow account.

    • Advance Notice Encouraged
      Requests must be made while the mortgage is current and at least 15 days from the next due date.

    • Delinquency May Affect Eligibility
      Assistance may be disallowed if the mortgage is past due at the time of the request.

    • Make Us Your First Call
      Contact AmPledge as soon as you experience a hardship. Our team of homeownership advocates is here to help you navigate the situation and explore all possible solutions.
